Between buildings.1
My graduation project dealt with making use of the semi-public spaces between, and on top of residential buildings in Tel Aviv. The centre of Tel Aviv is dense, and and well planned area that obeys the spirit of planning and construction of city.
There is a dissonance between the the street facing fronts, and the internal fronts. The internal areas have visible infrastructure elements, closed porches, added floors and many abandoned areas that are not in use.
Processed | Natural | Printed.2
The project is about a futuristic alimentation area in the Dizengoff Center mall in Tel Aviv. The automatic alimentation area is fully automatic and uses food printing technology where raw and fresh ingredients are fed via tubes. The project is located at the eastern bridge and spreads over two floors. The upper roof floor contains the preparation kitchen where raw ingredients are transported via large transparent tubes that connect to a food printing device and conveyor belts for transportation. The meals are ordered using a mobile application, and arrives through the conveyor belts into the consumer’s seat of choice.
Water fountains .4
This project was abound the drinking experience and attaching into a daily and vital action in an elementary school. The drinking fountains are location in the corridors on both floors of “Alonim” elementary school in Even Yehuda.
The corridor is a dynamic and narrow space with many group interactions. The actions taken in the corridor are usually fast as being part of a main route. One of the actions is drinking for water fountains. I have chosen to slow down the drinking routing and make it a more polite, almost a ritual. From the moment of pressing the button until the moment water comes out one needs to wait about 15 seconds.
The contraptions are located in front of an opening that allows light to enter, and reflect through the transparent pipes and water. The pupils sit inside a pipe system and observe the water movement. The water portions are customised for a glass or a bottle. This turns the drinking experience into a different social or personal experience and changes from one drinking device to the other.
Mozzie Collection.5
The main idea of the collection is to reconsider the pelt fabric as a material that defines the object, and the tension between mass and line.
The “Mozzie” chair is built form a metal construction and has a unique balance. The fineness of the metal is complimented by the wooden mass which supports the composition and balances the chair. The wild nature of the pelt softens the exact angles and dictates the sitting posture.
